Happy Father's Day

Growing up in a house with two parents that loved me unconditionally was amazing. Like mother, my daddy has always been there for me. He was the support that I needed and the shoulder to cry on.

I cross-stitched something for my daddy when I was younger and it simply said...
God knew we needed big hands to hold onto so he made Dads

This statement has always been so true in my relationship with my daddy.

Having a strong relationship with my daddy, gave me the confidence to look for the same type of love in a husband. He always put us first and I wanted someone that would put me and our future family first. There was never a doubt that he loved my mother and respected her as a woman and I wanted someone to spend my life with that would treat me the same way.

There is a saying that girls often marry someone just like their dad. I never really believed that until Jason came into my life. He and my dad are so much alike. They are compassionate, giving, supportive, strong, family oriented, loving, genuine, straight-forward, and heroes to me. They honestly get along great and are dear friends and I couldn't be happier about their close bond.

I grew up sitting in my dad's lap and have many memories of doing that - no matter where we were or who was around, I always felt comfortable when I sat on his lap. His lap now often holds our two most precious gifts from God - Rome and Nash. They call him "Duck" and he beams every time they say his name or crawl into his lap. He always tells them that there are "No Rules" when they are with him and is delighted to try and provide as many "no rule" opportunities as he can - he especially loves taking them on the "boom-boom" or in search of orange slice candy in the pool house. I am so thankful for my daddy and our relationship.

Once again, I love old pictures and here are some old pictures of us...

Just a few days old...

15 months old first beach trip...

I was around 18 months...

I was 2

I was 3 - love daddy's outfit!

I was 3 1/2

I was probably 4

I was 5

This is at the house where my parents still live.
I think I was 6.

This was the Christmas before I turned 7

Love this picture of mother and daddy...

Anyone that knows my daddy also knows that he LOVES to hunt!
Both boys also know that his favorite color is camouflage!
He always comes over to show us his prize.
This was taken in February of this year.

This was taken on Father's Day 2010
Duck, Jason, Rome and Nash
Jason loves to "play" with the boys!
